George Cullingworth died from wounds on 20th May 1915, while a prisoner of war but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded or captured. The 2nd Northumberland Fusiliers battalion was part of 84 Brigade, 28th Division that had been on the Western Front since January, 1915 and had been in action in April and May during the Second Battle of Ypres. |
